I believe this is so true. (Kudos to Adam Cappa, because I am not down with stealing anyone’s work!) They always say a picture is worth a thousand words, but sometimes the meme can put the picture into perspective!
Here we read: Don’t worry about pursuing anyone until you pursue the One who laid down His life for you…
This statement is so true when discussing marriages or any kind of relationship. We as humans belong to God, before we belong to anyone else. And most people do not realize they will and can love someone better once they establish a relationship with Jesus. It is something about Loving a spiritual entity that you cannot see or touch on a regular basis. That is when you truly have discovered the ultimate power of LOVE, and that’s the way God wants us to love everyone. If you loved this way you would not have any enemies at all, you would be able to forgive and still love and pray for that person.
You cannot even love yourself properly without establishing an agape love. Agape love is a “divine love, a love that God prefers” from us all (biblehub.com).
We often get entangled in this web of chaos and confusion called life and cannot find ourselves, cannot see the light and good in people anymore, because maybe we have been mistreated by our family, friends, or someone we thought was a significant other. So now we have created this pessimistic view of life and we begin to HATE. Hate drives us to be petty, lie, step out of character, cheat, and ultimately hurt others (voluntarily or involuntarily).
The greatest commandment that Jesus told us was to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:37-39, New International Version). Loving God can be the first step, if you are attempting to change for the betterment of your mind and soul. Once, you do this the purpose and reason for living will become clearer! And that is to unconditionally love, just like God loved/s us so much He sent His only son to die for our sins (John 3:16). The least WE can do is love someone else if not everyone, RIGHT?!?!
