So there is nothing wrong with being Healthy and Fit!!!
We often find ourselves, trying to look like those girls on the TV screen or in those magazines. Well who am I kidding, we have journeyed far from those two sources of media. It’s better to say, trying to look like those girls from the vine who are so fine or the tube (YouTube) who are so curved.
The thing is so many media outlets embellish how our lips, bodies and eye brows should appear to the world. As long as you know who you are then it doesn’t make any sense why you try to make yourself look like Kim K or the rest of their family. So that big butt, everyone wants is just silly and too much excess weight to carry around.
I was talking to a lady in the beauty salon one day. She had an awesome shape or the shape the media portrays as being awesome, small waste and big butt! You know what she told me? “She told me I hate the fact that my but is soooo big. It is so uncomfortable when I am trying to sleep at night on my back and I have this big space between the bed and my back. It is just a consistent pain and it hurts so much.” So I know if she said that, then there are plenty of other people saying that, but we are too busy trying to keep up with the status quo that we do not care about that little bit of pain for a second, that can cause serious back problems later.
This blog focuses on the importance of staying fit and healthy.
Fit is not wearing an uncomfortable body shaper all day, thinking it will cut the fat without you putting in any work to obtain the flat stomach you desire.
Fit starts with a healthy lifestyle. Once you alter your diet habits, along with conducting a few physical activities daily, you will start seeing results. You do not need to purchase the expensive protein shakes and diet pills (garcinia cambogia), which I am very much guilty of purchasing myself, thinking I would acquire that Beyonce body in no time. It does not work that way. You cannot start your fitness and health journey without your mind being fully committed to such a tedious task.
I have complained to my husband countless times of how I want to be smaller and thinner and maybe my life would be better. I could, also, pull off more of these fashions, because let’s be honest just because they make it in your size does not mean you should buy it and wear it! My husband has always told me in return, ‘As soon as you commit yourself to losing weight the pounds will start falling off’. I do not know why I did not listen to him sooner, because this is the truest statement you can ever admit to yourself to begin your healthy lifestyle journey.
You do not jump into a healthy lifestyle by starving yourself and then going into the gym with goals of burning 700 calories, because that is just unrealistic and quite frankly stupid. You will be dehydrated first and foremost and, secondly, you will lack the energy you need to even get you through your workout.
The simplest way to start a healthy lifestyle is to back away from fast food, snacks, and fried foods, that even means cutting back from the good homestyle meals in mama’s kitchen (talking about that good ole southern cooking).
Working with a healthy co-worker has opened my eyes to how bad certain foods can be and why that weight is not going anywhere when I think I am eating so healthy. He recommended me to watch a video that you can find on Youtube or Netflix called Fed Up. I recommend any one that reads this blog and is serious about losing weight to watch this video.

I have seen and heard, The First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama promote a healthy lifestyle for our nation. Maybe it is time we listen.
We only have one life. So why don’t we make it the best life by being fit and healthy.
I believe self-control is the best way to start a healthy lifestyle, but you cannot practice self-control without knowing the Lord and practicing the ways of the Lord. You might refer to this as fasting. Fasting is a very sacred action in which the soul becomes closer to the Lord. Most times we fast food. But why food? Food is what the body needs to survive. Any little whim or heartbreak, we are so quick to grab food and stuff it in our mouths for comfort, even if we are not hungry we still eat (called gluttony). Everyone is guilty of this.
If we teach our bodies to fast food while praying and reading the Bible then we will establish a closer relationship with the Lord. This entails any temptation we once had, will start to vanish, because we will no longer seek the ways of the world and we will know that the Lord is our comfort through any storm.
“He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down and without walls.” (Proverbs 25:28)
